Climb into the mountains on the first day of your Vietnam tour, leaving the Red River Delta area of Hanoi for the town of Ha Giang. You'll spend two days making your way to the Chinese border town of Meo Vac. Villages of the Tay, H'mong and Tay people dot the road and there will be plenty of time to stop enjoy the scenic views and wander through the hilltribe hamlets.
Your Vietnam tour journey continues with a short drive along the Chinese border to Dong Van, the country's northernmost point. Have your camera read as you climb what is known as 'Heaven's Pass' and meet with more curious locals near the border.
It is here in Dong Van area, amid the towering hills, that you will discover one of the most diverse stretches of the north. In one day you'll rub shoulders with vendors from several area hilltribes as they trade their wares at the market, step back in time at the palace of a former H'mong king and see traces of Chinese influence in Pho Bang where the local houses reflect old Chinese style. A truly memorable part of your Vietnam tour.
On day 5, the final day of your Vietnam tour, drive through the Tam Son Valley where you will take a short trek to a H'mong village. Passing back through Ha Giang at midday the road then begins to flatten out as you approach Hanoi and the buzz of the city.

Early morning at 07:30 have 2-hour drive from Hanoi to Thai Nguyen. On the way, visit Thai Nguyen Museum of Ehtnology to learn about the hill tribe people in the mountainous region of Northen Vietnam.
Continue driving 105 km to Na Phac and Cho Ra. Enjoy the captivating natural scenery along the journey. Have a late lunch in Cho Ra town. After lunch, drive to Ba Be , the Vietnam’s largest natural lake and is now the centrepiece of an extensive National Park. The park and the surrounding area is limestone country, so lakes, waterfalls, caves and unusual rock formations abound. Take a local boat and cruise through the Lake to the National Park
At the end of the day, transfer to Pac Ngoi village where is home of Tay people who still keep their traditional houses and hike the upper reaches of the lake, in an area marked by massive limestone cliffs and mountains.

Breakfast then drive to Cao Bang province, enjoy the astonishing landscape of the pass and arrive the Tinh Tuc town, take a short walk to visit a hill tribe village then have a coffee break. Continue drive to Bao Lac, stroll around the San Chay hill tribe village and have lunch in Bao Lac. Continue the journey along Gam River to Meo Vac town of Ha Giang Province. Have a walking tour to explore the spectacular Valley of Niem Son and the Nung minority people cultural life. Overnight in Meo Vac.

This morning you will visit the colourfull hill tribe markets in the region where visitors will be dazzled by the colorful traditional costumes of the mountain. Most of the customs of local ethnic groups have remained unchanged for centuries. Early, Hmong men and women, accompanied by horses loaded with goods, down from the high ridges. They sell their produce and buy. Women take care of business while the men maintain their relationships. Negotiations are well underway as the market is empty, they congregate and fill the atmosphere of harmonious sounds of their khenes. Or, they feast on "thang co", the favorite dish of the mountain, while drinking until heaven and earth seem to merge them. Then, slowly, their women are loading on the backs of horses they follow with a light step on the way home.
Back to Meo Vac and drive through spectacular Ma Pi Leng Pass to Dong Van. The route boast a feast of the magnificent scenery as you have probably never seen it. Visit the Village of Hmong people nestled amongs limestone karst.
Arrive in Dong Van, take an hour walking through this astonishing valley, explore the market and the ancient street of Dong Van and lunch. Follow the lunch is the visit to the amazing landscape of the Dong Van karst plateau Geopark. Visit the Hmong village then head to Xa Phin valley
Next is the stop at a historical site of the Vuong family palace who ruled over the region, control opium production and trading until 1945.
Spending one more hour driving through the breathtaking scenery to visit the Lung Cam Tren village where Hmong People changed their way of life which help them to have better life than their predecessors. Leave Lung Cam Tren and transfer for Yen Minh Valley. Overnight in Yen Minh

Breakfast then depart for Lung Tam , a small town set amongs the limestone karst and river where offer a spectacular scenery. This is well-known for the " Tho Cam " , a type of traditional cloth with colourful patterns. Visit the workshop where Ms Vang Thi Mai help the Hmong and Zao women to learn weaving the trational cloth to for earn living. Continue the drive through magnificent Quan Ba Pass and visit another village of the Hmong people. Arrive in Ha Giang at noon and stop for lunch break.
Enjoy an hour of walking in the Me village and transfer to Hoang Su Phi district where you will see a contrast of scenery to the Rocky land of Meo Vac abd Dong Van. Hoang Su Phi district nestled in the region of lush forest and green tea farms and the impressive terraced rice fields . Arrive the Pan Hou Lodge in the afternoon , check-in and have dinner.

Enjoy an interesting morning with a visit to local market on the Chay river bank where local hill tribe people exchange the animals such as dotted pigs, horses, dogs, ... ( if you are there on Sunday ) or explore the ethnic village at nearby your Pan Hou Lodge.
Leave Hoang Su Phi for 100km excursion along the Chay River, explore local life for the Flower Hmong, Tay and Nung people . Enjoy 02 hours trek through Lung Cai commune which is set on a range of soaring mountain, overlooking down a narrow and steep valley where the Chay River winding its way between Vietnam and China.
Arriving in Bac Ha Town at noon,visit Hoang A Tuong Castle. Following the lunch is a visit to the mighty Ban Pho valley then take 2-hour driving downhill to Lao Cai. Day used hotel room is available near the rail way station for you to refresh before boarding the overnight train back to Hanoi.
