Bike through Mekong Delta, immerse yourself in slow-pace but peaceful livestyle of the local Delta and discover their culture. Stay on a quiet island surrounded by fruit farms, explore charming villages and visit traditional family workshops

The journey starts in the morning. Leave behind the choatic urban scene of Hochiminh city and head Ben Tre city, to the calm, green rice paddy fields of Mekong Delta.
At Ben Tre, you will get an opportunity to ride through small, back roads, lush rice paddy fields, fruit farms, underneath shadows of coconut trees on a Xe Loi, a hybrid (but safe) vehicle with motorbike at the front and a two benched cart at the back. Then, soak up the nature beauty of Mekong Delta along its picturesque canals while enjoying fresh coconut juice aboard the private “Mango Cruise”. You will make a stop at a small brick workshop where locals still manually making bricks, using centuries-old methods.
After a short boat ride across the river, explore Phong Nam village by riding bicycle along small, flat lanes. Along the way, you will visit other small local workshops, including making of coconut products, flat rice noodles (hu tieu) factory and Mrs. Huong place, a family who lives on fishing, shrimp and farming. Take a short break to enjoy some tropical fruits and honey tea before continue your journey to explore the maze of small, sun-dappled canals and having a peak at the daily lives on the river on a sampan.
Re- board the Mango Cruise and head to lunch at the Mango Home Stay restaurant.
After lunch, learn how to make rice paper at Mr Sau Tuong’s house. Then, continue to a nearby house of Mr Hung, village’s famous sticky rice maker, to feed his stock and enjoy a nice walk through his fruit garden
Travel on land to Unicorn Island from Ben Tre around mid-afternoon. The island is lush and peaceful with only a few modest houses nestled underneath the multitude of coconut palms. Additionally, there are many fruit trees on the island as that’s the locals’ main source of income.
You will be transferred to the Island Lodge, a charming boutique by the river banks, tucked away between green fruits and coconut trees.
The rest of day is your leisure time.
Overnight at The Island Lodge, Thoi Son Island.
Another day of island exploration guided either by the resort’s owner or one of their local staff. After an early breakfast, relax on a boat ride and see some local fish farms on the water on Tien River. Then, from a disembarkation point, cycle through the lush coconut and cacao planations on narrow roads and peaceful countryside pathways. Get a closer look of the cacao’s planting, harvesting, fermenting and drying processes at a local farmer’s house.
The bicycle ride continues through the coconut plantations and fruit orchards, then to a local pagoda where you will take a short break to enjoy some refreshment before heading back to The Island Lodge.
Note: this cycling route is about 8km and takes around 3 hours. The exercusion is rated with intermediate difficulty due to the unsealed paths and some rougher “off road” terrain.
Lunch will be served at the lodge.
Departure for Hochiminh city (on road) starts mid-afternoon.
NOTE: An easier boat & cycle excursion is available on request with cycling distances ranging from 7km-13km, visiting either Coconut Plantations or the Fish Farms.
Alternatively, guest can also choose to spend the morning as they like, either taking a stroll or ride bicycle around the island at own pace or just relaxing at the resort. Please contact for more details.
