With boat trips through winding canals, exploration of hidden islands and visits to a diverse range of villages and craft shops this full-day journey takes you beyond the tourist stops and shows you the real Delta.
In the morning, our guide will pick you up at the hotel than drive to Cai Be. Upon the pier, embark a traditional wooden boat, have the welcome drink and refreshment onboard while cruising to the colorful floating market. You will find lots of floating vendors lining up their boats in the middle of the stream with their agricultural products hung on bamboo poles. Continue our boat trip to explore deeper about the local life by visiting the town’s business and craft factories. Your cruise will anchor at a beautiful restaurant on the riverside for the delicious lunch with local food.
After lunch, continue to cruise to Sa Dec flower village. Flowers here are grown on a high platform and the bottom is water from canal. Tan Qui Dong people, therefore, sail the boat to care for and collect flowers instead of traveling in land as normal. You will also visit the charming little town still not very touristy, it’s a true hidden gem in the Mekong delta. There is a very busy, authentic market near the river and a lot of architecture from the colonial period, such as the old market, as well as numerous old mansions and merchant homes. One of these houses belonged to the protagonist in Marguerite Duras’ novel and has been lovingly and traditionally restored. Take a stroll in the downtown with its cafés, market stalls and the old French church in the background then get on your air-conditined car to drive back to Ho Chi Minh city.
