Take a 2-hours drive from Sai Gon to Mekong delta. Arrive Cai Be, embark on the Bassac Boat and Cruise through the beautiful destinations of Mekong Detal including Cho Lach, Mang Thit, Binh Hoa Phuoc, Cai Be. The cruise journey reflects the spectacular scenery along the alluvial river and it’s an unique opportunity for a glimpse of the very varied life on the banks as well as on the water. Visit a the floating market, some villages with fruit and bonsai garden. Explore the local small factory where handicarft and dried fruit made and have some cultural interaction with local people.
Bassac is a wooden cruise from the hull of an 80-foot-long rice barge. She can accommodate up to 12 passengers in six nicely decorated cabins, each with air-con and a private bathroom, and features a 100 sqft restaurant that opens all around, a large gallery, a small office room and 700 sqft of sundeck.
Day 1 : Ho Chi Minh - Cái Bè
In the morning, our guide will pick you up at the hotel then drive to Mekong Delta. After 2 hours, you arrive Cai Be and Boarding at Cai Be at noon. Welcome drink, Introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabins and Departure towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river.
Lunch while on route then Rest on the deck, or enjoy the open bar. Branching into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. Visit of a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest around the bar or on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising back Mang Thit river. The Bassac runs upstream Co Chien river then sets anchor for the night, not far from the large My Thuan bridge.
Day 2 : Cai Be - Return to Ho Chi Minh city
06:30 Departure towards Cai Be. The passengers take their breakfast while enjoying the scenery on the banks. The Bassac follows around the Binh Hoa Phuoc peninsula then reaches into the First River, then the branch to Cai Be, in between banks of freshwater mangrove. Arrival in Cai Be, check-out and transfer to a rowing boat for a quiet visit through a small canal. Rendez-vous with a local boat, which will take you to shore for a visit of Cai Be's handicraft. Get on your air-condinined vehicle then drive back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city.
